Wodify alternative: Kreidebuch vs Wodify

Wodify is gym software, and the member app is part of it. Here's what it's good for, when a log of your own makes sense and how to take your results with you.

Last checked: October 25, 2026

Short answer: If your box runs class booking and billing on Wodify, you'll need the app anyway; Kreidebuch doesn't replace it. A log of your own makes sense if you also train outside classes, switch boxes or want to keep your results independent of your gym. Kreidebuch imports Wodify exports with Premium.

This page is published by Kreidebuch, so we're not neutral. Everything we say about other apps comes with a source and a date. Spot a mistake? Email info@kreidebuch.de and we'll fix it.

When a log alongside or after Wodify makes sense

The Wodify app is tied to your box. Many features aren't publicly documented because Wodify's website blocked our requests. Here's what we could confirm:

  • The app is meant for clients of a Wodify gym. That's what its App Store description says.
  • You're switching boxes or quitting. You'll want your results in a log that isn't tied to a gym.

Wodify

Best for: members of a box that runs class booking, billing and workouts on Wodify.

Wodify is made by Wodify Technologies LLC in Denver. Its member app combines class booking, appointments, attendance, the workout of the day and your performance history. Wodify's website blocked our requests, so this is based mostly on the store listings.

Strengths

  • German interface per the App Store
  • Class booking, appointments, workouts and performance history in one app
  • Leaderboard, comments and chat inside your box
  • High App Store rating

Limitations

  • Per its description, meant for clients of a Wodify gym
  • Many features (timer, WOD formats, offline) aren't publicly documented

Price: The app is free for members; the box pays for the software (plans per wodify.com: Essentials, Accelerate, Ultimate). We couldn't find prices because the pricing page blocked our requests.

Ratings: App Store US, Oct 25, 2026: 4.92 (16,777 ratings). App Store Germany: 4.80 (350). Google Play US: 3.6 (906 reviews).

What Kreidebuch does differently

Kreidebuch

Best for: a training log of your own, independent of your box.

Kreidebuch is a training log made by The Goodie Company GmbH near Würzburg, Germany. It runs as a web app in the browser and can be added to your home screen. Data is stored on a Hetzner server in Helsinki, Finland.

Strengths

  • It's yours, not your box's: your account and data stay when you switch gyms
  • Log any time: class, open gym, home gym or on vacation
  • 145 benchmarks, lifts with sets and 1RM, timers for every common format
  • Free JSON and CSV export; delete your account with one tap
  • Import of your Wodify results with Premium
  • English and German

Limitations

  • Not a native app: no Apple Watch app, no Apple Health connection, no vibration on iPhone
  • New, with few users so far
  • No box management software, no class leaderboards or rankings
  • Planning, templates, insights, strength programs and import need Premium

Price: Free with the timer, logging, history, benchmarks, PRs per lift and export. Premium costs €5.99 a month or €53.99 a year. New accounts get a 14-day Premium trial.

Ratings: Kreidebuch isn't listed in the app stores, so it has no store ratings.

Logging a workout in Kreidebuch

Moving from Wodify to Kreidebuch

  1. Per BTWB's help center, sign in to Wodify in a browser and export the “Weightlifting” and “Metcons” tables under “My Performance”. You'll get Excel files, possibly as a ZIP.
  2. Save the tables as CSV, for example in Excel or Numbers via “Export”.
  3. In Kreidebuch, go to Profile → Data → “Import history” and upload the file. You'll see a preview with the column mapping before anything is imported; duplicates are skipped.

If the export doesn't work, ask your box or Wodify support for your training data as a CSV. Import is a Premium feature. New accounts get a 14-day Premium trial.

When Kreidebuch fits, and when it doesn't

Kreidebuch is a good fit if …

  • … you want a log that belongs to you, not to your box
  • … you also train at open gym, at home or while traveling
  • … you want to save your results before switching boxes
  • … you want lifts with sets, RPE and strength programs

Stick with Wodify if …

  • … your box runs classes, appointments and billing on Wodify; Kreidebuch doesn't replace that
  • … your box's leaderboard and chat matter to you
  • … you only train in classes and the box's workout is all you need
